Does the Media still speak truth to power?

Depends on who is in power.  The Media has been strangely quiet on the cause of the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae collapse as opposed to Enron and the latter was a much smaller problem.

The media, what has been called the 4th Branch of Government, has been eerily silent despite the incredible power grab that is taking place in our government and around the world. For an institution that prides itself with “speaking truth to power,” journalists have been quite comfortable allowing the powerful to seize liberty from the people so long as a Republican is not responsible. While the following statement has become a cliche, its truth is sadly apparent: 2008 was the year that journalism died.

Ask yourself if you heard more about Emanuel’s “sharp elbows” versus his involvement with the present financial crisis?

Now, the Federal Reserve is dishing out trillions of our dollars without telling us who is getting the money. The auto industry is going to receive billions of dollars in loans that it will never pay back. Moreover, Obama supporters think the President elect is going to “Rule” the nation.
