If members of the media instead voted 90% for Republican candidates their reporting would be just as biased but in the opposite direction. The purpose of the mainstream media is to call out any and all abuses of power in order to keep the public informed but when the media is ideologically selective with their reporting then the very foundation of our democracy suffers as the electorate remains uninformed.
